After 365 days of January, it is finally the second month of the year. Anyone else feel like January just drags? It was a good month sales-wise. Shadows of the Soul topped out with 230 orders placed with Whispers of Ecstasy at 2,212! I want to be very transparent about all of this. I made next to nothing from those sales as I took part in the www.romancebooklovers.com #romancebookblast last month. With that being said, events like this are not about the money. They are about getting your book into the hands of readers. It's about the exposure. You know what they say: All it takes is having your book in front of the right person. Granted, we know it takes a lot more than that.

This month, I want to focus on the processes that make us writers. Those grueling hours of writing our books, editing them, designing covers...all of it. Most, if not all, some of us do all by ourselves. I want to shed some light and be totally transparent about the labor of love that is our books. I will have two other posts this month. The next one will focus on the aspects of writing and editing. The last post will go into detail about cover designs and independent publishing. It isn't necessarily a roadmap to success, but it is a start for any aspiring writers.

Now, as far as news goes, I am still slated to appear at the Mid-Ohio Indie Author Expo in August! I have been preparing since last month. I have a few fun little giveaways, and hopefully, plenty of inventory. This is my first big event, and I have no idea what to expect in terms of traffic. I mean, the goal is always to sell out, right?

The Taste of Salt is still coming along. With any luck, it will be in your hands by late July. I may not have it finished in time to sell at the expo, but they will be available on Amazon regardless. I always expect to finish on time, but this is one I think I want to finish early so they will be available at the Expo. Time and life will tell.

Keep an eye out on my website for those other posts this month!

Have a safe and happy February! <3
